'Pura Vida' is the unofficial motto of the Costa Rica, which literally translates to 'pure life'.  it embodies the Costa Rican ideal of a calm, unflustered life lived surrounded by nature, friends and family.  Ticos, the predominant ethnic group in costa Rica, are famed for their hospitable and peaceful ways.  Peace is central to the Costa Rican way of life, in 1949 the army was constitutionally abolished.

Affordable Property.
Property costs and taxes in Costa Rica are substatially lower than in North America.  Many foreigners choose Costa Rica for Second homes and vacation properties because comparable properties in their home countries are prohibitively expensive. Costa Rica is favorable tax system, including no capital gains taxes on the sale of property, makes it a great place for the investor. Unlike other countries in the region foreign property owners are given the same legal protections as citizens.
